I got the Eye of the Tiger (but it’s not what you think).

Ok, so a quick update from what I’ve heard about the protests and unrest going on around the country. Again I’m safe. Cities like Bogota are so huge that besides extra traffic if you stay out of the hot spots at night you are fine. Although on Friday we had to close early because patients weren’t able to get to us because the city closed down the buses and the train or subway system. Even taxis weren’t picking people up so we didn’t want to risk the staff not being able to get home. The military was deployed to 16…

When I heard what the Government was trying to do I wanted to protest and riot!

We are starting our 4th week of protests. The government declared it all a military action so if protesters are out after 6pm they can legally be shot. A few people have told me about close calls they have had. But over all it’s only in certain areas at certain times. No worries if you are just living your life and staying out of the hot spots. People have painted huge signs on the streets a block long. This is because the politicians want to raise taxes on people making $90 or less a month. Total greedy scumbags.

Again 2020 and 2021 have nothing on my 2017! I’m living in a foreign country 2677 miles away from where I grew up and there are lock downs and protests and riots…but I feel fine! It’s all good in my neighborhood.

The Mayan Calendar was off by a few years because the world technically ended in 2020. At least our freedoms did. I’m not a Covid denier. I know it’s real and has effected so many people. My own parents got it. I’m just frustrated that the world got shut down over it. …

(Alternative title: Motivation Deflation Conflagration.)

This last week took a turn for the worst when my next door neighbor had her daughter visiting (I think), and she is doing international Zoom business calls every morning from 3am to 7am right on the other side of my bedroom wall. I would put in my earplugs but I am afraid of not hearing my alarm. So I started to get the symptoms of a cold. But I’m not about to start coughing and scaring patients away if they think I have the Wu Flu. …

Actual photo of me after my workout.

So the Mayor decided to lock the city down again on the weekends for the next month. It’s really annoying because it scares some patients away and we were just building some great momentum. But numbers are still good and I can’t complain. Everyone is getting frustrated that these lock downs never seem to end. Also you can’t leave the city after Midnight when the lock down starts so it really is a prison city. The gyms are closed so I went to the park to have my own little prison style workout on the jungle gym bars. Because just…

How I feel living in Bogota.

This city is so big it seems to go on forever! Here is some beautiful Drone footage of Bogota to give you an idea…

I got nothing this week folks. So here are some fun distractions until I get some better content from my actual life…

Word Association Time again! Take 3 seconds to look at the photos and see what association you make and see if it matches with mine.

(Steve Harvey who infamously announced the wrong Miss Universe. At least he was able to make fun of himself later.)

So what is best in life……

Sometimes God sends you an obvious message.

Welcome back to another blog with your host Dr. J who has a face for radio and a voice for print!

So my 3 months tourist Visa is almost up and we turned in all my info to get my work Visa approved. (Thanks Dad for all the help there with my documents.) Hope it all goes through without problems. The main issue is they are more restrictive at the moment because of all the Venezuela immigrants fleeing their country right now and flooding the job market. Socialism is bad okay? Any country with socialized healthcare that is doing ok…

Andres Carne de Rez

So last Sunday Rian and Emy took me to the #1 rated restaurant in Bogota called Andres Carne de Rez. It was outside of the city in a town called Chia. The owner is an artist who has been covering every square inch of the restaurant with his artwork for decades. The place was massive and the size of a city block. Words and photos don’t do it justice. This was the most insane restaurant I have ever been to in my life. But not only was it cool because of the artwork and the atmosphere, the food was amazing…

You can always orient yourself by using the mountains. I think I can see my dentist’s office from here.

Ok, so as I’m catching you up on all my comings and goings I have a back log of random photos and things that have happened over the last several weeks. Everything is going great here. The office continues to grow like crazy. A little over a month ago we broke a new record for the week that we didn’t expect for a while with the shutdowns. And just last week we saw even more growth. Dr. Rian threw us a pizza party after we reached a certain level. He owes us all about 5 pizzas each at this rate!
